Silent Wings - The American Glider Pilots of WWII
narrated by Hal Holbrook, reveals the critical role
gliders played in World War II offensives.

The largest armed conflict in human history demanded all an individual soldier could possibly give and the American glider pilots flying in unarmed and powerless aircraft were among the bravest individual soldiers serving on the Allied front lines. They were the first ones into battle and then had to find their own way out.

Self reliant and brave, America’s WWII glider pilots and their accomplishments more often than not have gone unheralded and un-noted by military historians for more than sixty years.
